Handmade Stained Glass Blue Bird Window Panel – Framed Art

This is a beautiful, colourful & very unique Stained Glass Blue Bird Window Panel enclosed within a handcrafted wooden frame. No two of my pieces are ever the same, due to the selection of glass available. The frame is handmade from pine and finished with a beeswax polish and has a chain for hanging. The coloured glass is carefully selected by me, not just for the colour but for the texture and ability to capture light and make your panel sparkle in the sunlight. The clear background glass has an effective frost finish and the colourful border just enhances the playful, quirky Blue Bird! I’m lucky enough to observe all manner of wild birds in my garden daily and this inspired my design. I first sketch out my idea then refine and draw to scale. My drawing is then used as a template. The glass panel/sun catcher is made using the ‘Tiffany’ technique. Each piece of glass is individually cut by hand, shaped and edged with copper foil. All pieces of glass are then soldered together before adding a dark patina and a final wax polish. The glass panel is then enclosed within a custom made wooden frame. The frame protects the glass and ensures that it is ready to display straight from the box. From start to finish, the glass panel is made with love and care.
